With most of us leading busy lives, the idea of volunteering – giving your time and energy to a cause without a financial reward – may seem like an impossible task. How can we possibly fit anything else into our already jam-packed schedules? Volunteering is important for many reasons and doesn’t have to take up too much time! The benefits of volunteering are vast for the volunteer, not just the community or organization receiving their assistance.
Of course, the benefits of volunteering for those receiving help are clear. Whether it’s spending time at a local food bank, picking up litter at your neighborhood park or volunteering for a community event the benefits to the receiver and the wider community are part of the reason why you decide to volunteer to begin with. Volunteering allows you to create a connection to your community and make it a better place. Volunteers are often the glue that holds a community together through a shared purpose and sense of pride.
As a neighborhood community who relies heavily on volunteers to accomplish many of our projects and initiatives, the Hill 2000 is looking for volunteers for events and/or committees. The volunteer opportunities are endless and can be a reoccurring commitment or a once-a-year opportunity! If you’re interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities or ready to jump right in, please complete our volunteer interest form. A member of the board will follow-up with you about upcoming volunteer opportunities.
